Municipal Trash Service to begin soon! Collection will begin the week of June 14th!
The City of Enterprise will soon begin its municipal trash collection service. While the City of Enterprise Cannot require households to use the city trash service, the city has passed an ordinance that it is the residential trash utility within the city and prohibits private companies from collecting residential trash within the city. This action was taken by the city council after two years of study and a survey of the households in the city resoundingly favored the city create the trash collection utility.
The City Council has set the residential rate at $14.00 per month for trash cart service. The carts will be 96 gallon carts which are the same size most providers currently provide.
There will also be a tag service available for those that only generate a small amount of trash. The tags cost $2.00 per tag and may be placed on bags up to 40 gallon size. the bag may be placed at the curb to be picked up on collection days.
Billing
The billing for city trash service will be included on your monthly utility bill and will be due and payable the same as the other services provided by the city.
Collection Dates
When you call to subscribe for municipal trash service you will be informed of the week day that your trash will be collected. The town will be divided in half and one side will be collected early in the week and the other late in the week.
Final Date that outside companies will be allowed to pickup residential trash. The final date willbe August 14th 2010
When the ordinance is published in the official city newspaper, current trash collectors will have 90 days to cease operation. This will allow those that have 90 days pre-paid to use their entire contract.
What you may place in your cart.
Normal household trash, small appliances that do not contain refrigerant such as toasters, microwaves and sweepers.
While the city encourages you to use our burn site for your yard waste, you may place yard waste in your cart as long as you can close the lid.
Additional bags or containers.
The city realizes that from time to time you may have additional items that will not fit in the cart. You may place up to five (5) additional bags or containers with your cart as long as one person may lift the items.
Prohibited Items.
No Hazardous waste.
No paint or chemicals (empty paint cans accepted)
No tires
No concrete
No large metal (call and free pickup may be arranged).
No large limbs or wood, only what can fit in a closed cart.
